USTAWA z dnia 12 stycznia 1991 r. o podatkach i opłatach lokalnych

Napisane jest tam:
“Art. 17. 1. Opłata miejscowa jest pobierana od osób fizycznych przebywających dłużej niż dobę w celach turystycznych, wypoczynkowych lub szkoleniowych”

Tak więc według mnie wystarczy że:
- określi się cel inny niż wyżej wymienione (np: cel zarobkowy/zawodowy, cel naukowy etc.)
LUB
- określi się, że przebywa się łącznie mniej niż dobę (bo jeżeli przebywa się przez dwa dni np: po 8 godzin dziennie na terenie gdzie pobiera się opłaty to przecież sumarycznie nie liczy się jako doba, tylko 8+8 = 16h)

… i wtedy opłata nie ma prawnego uzasadnienia, ponieważ nie ma przesłanek do jej pobrania.

Co Wy na to ?

Niech ktoś wyprowadzi mnie z błędu :)

System could not see my Dell Avim X51v, saying that the system was unable to install drivers for the device.

Follow the steps to fix it (I tried many things I found on the internet, but only the steps I took worked for me):

STEP 1:

Download and install the Windows Mobile Device Center from http://support.microsoft.com/kb/931937

STEP 2:

Using your x51v go to START -> Settings -> Connections -> USB to PC

Disable (leave unchecked) the “Enable advanced network functionality” checkbox

That is it, from now on your x51v should be visible for the Windows 7

Hopefully it will work for you :-)

Canon A620 vs SX1 IS

For years I’ve been the owner and huge fan of canon compact cameras, from the powershot A85, A80,  A580 to the A620 (which I consider the most versatile canon camera to date).

I stick to them for a number of reasons, including, but not limited to:

• Great value-for-money factor :)
• Solid sturdy compact design and handy grip
• Zoom
• AA-battery operated (2xAA or 4xAA)
• Fully articulated LCD screen (with the exception of A85 and A580)
• Standardized user interface
• Ability to enhance the original firmware with the CHDK (Canon Hack Development Kit)

Now it’s time to upgrade to the Canon Powershot SX1 IS

The software for camera management:

The software for camera management (CameraWindowDC.exe) is a huge step backwards in terms of how image management is handled. For example, lacks the function of deleting the images and movies directly off the camera (!).

This would be  particularly useful to be able to quickly delete a group of images or movies which hog most of the card memory. With SX1 I have to delete them one-by-one using the camera built-in “erase” button.

This function was available in the A620 software (see images below)  so I consider it a step backwards.

1) Get a shell account (linode might be a good choice)

2) Get SleepShell and install it on the shell account (i.e. “stunnel” account) to have a dummy shell.

3) Get cygwin and install it on both windows machines. Don’t forget to enable openssh package.

3) On the target machine (the one that you want to connect TO) create remote tunnel (from shell account to windows):

ssh -v -C -R 3389:localhost:3389 stunnel@servername


4) On the source machine (the one that you want to connect FROM) create local tunnel (from windows to shell account):

ssh -v -C -L ssh -v -C -L 3391:localhost:3389 stunnel@servername


5) Connect from source machine to target machine via Remote Desktop using the address:

localhost:3391


That’s it! Hope it’ll work for you :)
BTW, make sure you have your firewall configured to allow the 3391-port traffic !

The question is, how the heck do they make a profit off that if they do ?

A quick search pointed me at  the casualty notification guide for the casualty notification officer (see the webarchive mirror).

As you can read there is a number of strict rules regarding this unenviable job, let me just highlight some of them (excerpts from the above mentioned document):

• Make your visit as inconspicuous as possible without calling undue attention to the unusual presence of the military.
• Convey one of the following scripts to the NOK (Next Of Kin) (without reading from script):
  • For death cases: ….script lines…..
  • For missing cases: ….script lines…..
  • For deaths resulting from friendly fire: ….script lines…..
  • For deaths – positive identification not complete: ….script lines…..
  • …..other cases of death……..
    
• Do not extend overly sympathetic gestures that may be taken the wrong way.  Use good judgment by not passing gory or embarrassing details.
• IMPORTANT! Do not physically touch the NOK in any manner unless there is shock or fainting. Summon medical assistance immediately, if necessary.

The question is: am I the only one having problems with this model, or it’s an issue that affects the line of all Samsung EcoGreen series ?

On the bright side: this drive was REALLY quiet (5400rmp, only one platter), maintained low temperature (~20-30′C) and had low power consumption.

The warranty is still valid, hopefully I will have it replaced soon :)
